One of the things that I love so much about Ella Peyton at this age, is her overwhelming desire to make other people happy. It's such a driving force for her right now, that it often trumps any notion she might have to be selfish.Case in point... yesterday morning, I was getting ready for the day and went to blow dry my hair. As soon as I ran my brush through it once, the $#*$% thing broke. I came out of my bathroom with one piece in each hand in complete disbelief (how do hairbrushes break???).
Ella Peyton took one look at my face and said "Mommy, your brush is broke? It's ok, it's alright, you can use my brush - it isn't broke." She immediately ran upstairs, grabbed her brush and brought it down to me. She then proceeded to show me how it wasn't broken and that I could use it to do my hair. At that point, how could I refuse??
I'll be making a point pick up a new brush for myself when I go to the store today so she can officially have hers back. I have to admit that I did smile this morning when I did my hair - and not just because I looked pretty ridiculous waving a pink cinderella hairbrush around in the air -but also because it reminded me how sweet and thoughtful Ella Peyton was. It was the littlest thing, but she definitely succeeded in making me happy.
