Happy Father's Day!

We hope everyone had a marvelous Father's Day today!

As you can imagine, ours has been somewhat bittersweet as it is the first Father's Day that we've celebrated without my Dad. Amongst other things, I missed not going through the standard Father's Day exercise of shopping for something for Dad that he absolutely didn't need but I knew he'd like to have. He was always so fun to spoil that way.

However, despite some of the sadness that came along with day, we did manage to have an overall nice day celebrating many of the other fathers we know and love. Ella helped me make not only breakfast for her daddy, but dinner and a cake too (and, of course, Duncan was more interested in eating the cake). And, in addition to the homemade meals, we spent a good bit of the day in the neighbors' pool, which provided a REALLY nice break from the heat.

We hope that everyone else had a day that was just as relaxing and that all other fathers out there were duly appreciated and doted on today as well!
