Camp Honey Creek Visit

Anne and I went over to Camp Honey Creek this weekend to see Ella Peyton and watch this year's Tribe Shows. This was the weekend that Ella Peyton was originally scheduled to come home, but the big girl asked if she could stay one more week so we're letting her give it a whirl.

She seemed like she was having a blast - so independent and so enjoying all of the activities she was doing.  She probably told me 10 times over that she's making some kind of ceramic cupcake thing in workshop. At this point, I've heard so much about it, I'm dying to see it!

Tribe Shows was very cute. If you're unfamiliar with what Tribe Shows is, the gist is that the girls draw a skit title on Tuesday, and then each tribe (there are two -Kickapoos and Pawnees) writes a skit based on that title. They also write songs to go along with it and create all of the backdrops, costumes and props - and all of this is done in their "spare" time. They have to keep going to their regular classes while this is all being pulled together. And all of this is started on Tuesday and then put on for parents Saturday evening. No problem! The girls did a great job and I'm happy to report that the Pawnees won this year. Go Pawnees! Ella Peyton was a sign carrier (picture below) and did a marvelous job. She got several "awwwww's" as she crossed the stage. :)

Ella Peyton with her friend Caroline, who went for her first time this year. Both were in the same cabin. It was a lot of fun to see the Empire Heights Court girls together again!
