Ike Update

Well, it looks like we maybe should have been keeping our fingers, eyes and toes crossed?

Ike has flinched a little and it looks like it will be heading a bit further north than they'd thought earlier this week. We've done our obligatory "hurricane shopping" and are up to our eyeballs in batteries, candles, cases of water and shelf-stable food.

Here's hoping we don't have to dig into any of it!

I would like to state for the record that we are officially sick of hurricanes. We're tired of thinking about them, worrying about them, and planning around them - whether they're in Texas or Louisiana.

In the last couple of days, Ike had started to really worry us, as it looked like many of the computer models had it heading pretty much straight towards Houston. We were somewhat relieved to see the latest set of projections that were posted tonight (above). Not that we would wish ill will on anyone else, but we're admittedly glad to see that it looks like this one may miss Houston. Keep your fingers crossed that Ike stays on his projected path.
