Catching Up

Life has been extremely crazy lately and I've gotten a bit behind in my postings. So, below is a cliff-notes version of what's been keeping us so busy lately. With all of the activities around the end of the school year, there will be more to come soon!

Ella Peyton and I headed to Camp Honey Creek last weekend with Aunt Annie and some good friends from Houston for Mother/Daughter Weekend. It was our third year to go play. We had a great time shooting BB guns, swimming, riding horses and visiting with friends, new and old.

Ella Peyton is really excited about heading back this summer on her own. She seems to enjoy it so much when we're there. I expect she'll take to the whole camp experience like a duck to water. I'm not quite sure how we'll handle her being away though. It may be harder for us than for her! Lol

Missing Dad something fierce on April 27th. Hard to believe it's been 3 years. The picture above is of Dad and his friend Leo (one of our former montessori teachers) after one of their recitals.

Ella Peyton got her tonsils out on April 10th. She was so excited to have it done, up until the moment she woke up in the recovery room, bless her heart. She did really well with the surgery itself and is completely recovered at this point. Recovering was not the party she thought it would be, but she's sleeping a lot more soundly now as a result and is ready to move onto the orthodontics she's been needing.

We had a lovely visit to Graham for Easter this year. It was a lot of fun to see everyone and to get to visit with most of the cousins!

We adopted a 2-month-old puppy, Nora, from Austin Pets Alive on April 2nd. She's extremely sweet and personably, but definitely all puppy. She's growing like a weed, putting on 8 1/2 pounds sin
ce we first got her.

Nora is a rescue puppy. Her pregnant mother was scheduled to be euthanized at the shelter. Fortunately, her foster mom became aware of the situation and took the mom home. Nora and her two brothers were born at the foster mom's house and had lived there for the first 2 months of their lives.

We've started her in a puppy training class and she seems to be relatively quick to learn each of the lessons. We have 4 more classes to go and are excited to see what she'll pick up, especially around the "no nipping" lesson! :)

I'll post more pictures of her soon. It's crazy how quickly she's growing!
