Ella Peyton's brownie troop is selling girl scout cookies for the first time this year! Most of the girls have committed to selling 25 or so boxes, essentially enough to earn the badge.
Several of them went to Walmart yesterday to make a dent in their stash. I pleased to relay that our stash is officially gone! Yesterday's experience was really great for the girls. Not only did they sell a bunch of cookies, but they learned how to approach potential customers, walked them through the buying process and handled money. It was a great lesson in the sales cycle and customer service. Plus, they had fun to boot.
The proceeds for this year's sales will be split - a chunk of the proceeds will go to the Austin Children's Shelter, and the girls will use the rest to pay for a celebratory ice cream party.
