I Can Teach Night

Stuart's school hosted it's annual "I Can Teach Night" tonight. At this event, the kids pick specific lessons they've learned at school and teach them to their parents.

Stuart had 3 lessons that he showed us: the addition strip board, the tens board (pictured above) and the movable alphabet (pictured below).  With the addition strip board, Stuart showed us how to add single digits together. With the tens board, he showed us how to count by tens and how to visually show (with beads) the impact when adding to the single digits column. And with the movable alphabet, Stuart showed us how to spell certain words (I bet you can guess which one is his and which are Ella Peyton's). He's just beginning reading, so we are of course thrilled with any words he is able to spell at this point.

He had a great time showing off his work and what he knew. It's so fun to see his excitement around learning. I can't wait to see what he shows us next year!
