To celebrate Duncan's birthday, we took several of Duncan's friends to The Main Event, where the rock climbed, played laser tag and video games and bowled. The kids had an absolute blast, but describing the venue as organized chaos would be a stretch. The place was packed and trying to keep track of everyone was no small feat. I can pretty confidently say we will not attempt additional birthday parties there. That said, the kids really enjoyed it. Duncan even got an extra treat of having one of his friends spend the night afterwards. This friend is one of his old buds from Houston, who came in especially for the party. It was good to see him and his parents as well.
Sweet Duncan celebrated his 11th birthday!!!!
The fence is now up and the plants have been planted! We have been wanting to put in a vegetable garden for some time and finally got a fence up and beds made. Jeff and his ranch hands, aka Ella Peyton and Jack, planted a slew of vegetables - tomatoes, okra, corn, bell peppers, carrots, peas, onions, potatoes, cucumbers, and more. As this is our first pass at gardening, we don't expect it all to shake out, but look forward to harvesting what does.
After spending the better part of the week in NOLA for work, I headed home to meet the fam for a trip to Graham to visit family and meet Blake and Jennifer's new baby, Braxton. He is an adorable little guy and a great snuggler. :) We're looking forward to watching that handsome boy grow!
Sweet Braxton
